Referral Sources
Business and Non-Commercial Attorneys
Numerous other business attorneys, in Silicon Valley and from
throughout the United States, as well as lawyers working in non-commercial
fields, will regularly refer to us individual founders or groups
who seek to start new companies, sometimes because the referring
lawyer has a conflict and cannot undertake the representation,
sometimes because the lawyer lacks the corporate, intellectual
property, or other expertise needed to feel comfortable in undertaking
the representation, and sometimes simply to facilitate a localized
Silicon Valley transaction on behalf of a client located elsewhere
in the United States and otherwise represented by the referring
law firm in its general business, corporate, and intellectual
property matters (California law creates traps for out-of-state
counsel who are deemed to be “practicing law” within
California unless they have the benefit of local counsel assisting
them in a particular California-based transaction – a role
that our firm can effectively fill as desired by the out-of-state
referring lawyer).
